Legal & Compliance Intern

At AFS Group, safeguarding sound and ethical business operations is central to everything we do. In this role, your primary focus will be hands-on Customer Due Diligence (CDD), working closely alongside our experienced team to support daily KYC operations under the Dutch Wwft.

What You Will Do?

As an intern, you will play an active role in both the operational and project side of compliance, focusing on:

• Customer Due Diligence (CDD): conduct thorough client assessments to map out potential risks and safeguard the integrity of our firm.

• Regulatory Support: Assist the team with preparations for the new EU AML Package (including AMLR, AMLA, AMLD6, and TFR) and gain practical insight into how European regulatory updates are implemented in practice.

What We Are Looking For

• Education & Status: Currently enrolled at a university or University of Applied Sciences (HBO) within the European Union (EU) and in the final phase of your studies (preferably in Law, Criminology, or a related legal/financial field).

• Skills & Mindset:

  • Analytical, accurate, and detail-oriented with a pragmatic, solution-driven approach.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.

  • Proactive, practical, and eager to make a tangible impact.

• Languages: Preferably fluent in Dutch, and at least fluent in English (both written and spoken).

• Availability: Available 3 to 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible, preferably no later than 1 October.
